First, locate the three wire plug under the seat just to the rear of the fuse box; it will most likely have a blue colored cap on it.
1. Remove the blue cap
2. Prepare 18 to 22 gauge wire. Needs to be about 6 inches long with about 1 inch bare on each end.
3. Insert one of the bare ends of the above mentioned wire into the middle slot and fold the wire over and replace the blue cap. This will prevent the wire from coming loss and falling out.
4. Loosen the bolt just to the left of the clip where the three-wire plug and connect the other bare end of the wire mentioned in step 2. Remember to tighten the bolt back down and make sure the wire is touching the steel part of the frame; it will not work if the wire is between the bolt and the washer because they are aluminum.
5. Turn the ignition key one but do not start the bike.
6. Press and hold the ABS button, located on the dash of the bike, for 30 seconds.
7. Release the ABS button and turn the ignition off.
8. Turn the ignition on and both ABS light should be flashing together.
9. Test ride the bike to insure the ABS is functioning properly. |

You should probably set up the company R1100RTps like mine, so that the underseat wire is already in possition, and all one has to do it hit the ABS switch and turn the bike off, then on again. |

The new one is; I did that last night. We haven't had any problems with the other 1100 we've had, but the next time I see it I will. |

Are you still having problems with your ABS kicking itself out? |
